Sovereign were asked to create designs for two areas at Elangeni School, the first to overcome a shortage of cycle and scooter space and the second to remove and replace an existing gazebo used as an outdoor classroom. The area for the cycle storage was a challenge as the area was not very big and an unusual shape so every spare metre counted. There was an existing metal shelter so it seemed wise to add the new surfacing to that and create an all-round larger space. A custom timber roof pergola was used as the cycle storage with half ship-lap sides and an extra space added to the side to store the scooters. For the outdoor classroom area we had to remove an old rotten structure before installing a brand new 5m gazebo complete with school red canvas blinds, shelved seating and a chalkboard. We laid artificial grass underneath to allow additional seating and added a pathway leading to the main playground to give good access

Why did you choose Sovereign for the Project?
“Our project to get our additional cycle shed and gazebo installed had been a project that for a number of reasons including Covid kept being pushed back. We found that many companies had found ways of providing quotes without having to visit our site and while we appreciated why these measures had been taken when it came to actually choosing the right company for the job, we felt it was essential to have met a representative from the company face to face and for them to have actually been on site.
