    Project Insights

    Location: Devon

Chris Holding, Headteacher of Thorverton C of E Primary School, contacted us to arrange a site visit and quotation for the replacement of the school’s existing trim trail. The current play equipment had become damaged and was considered uneconomical to repair, prompting the school to explore a new solution.
Following discussions, the brief focused on creating a more engaging trim trail within an area of approximately 25 metres in length, replacing the existing “castles and bridge” style play equipment. The school also expressed a preference for an all-weather surface, ideally rubber mulch, subject to the available budget, to ensure year-round accessibility for pupils.
The project was planned to be funded through PTFA fundraising and an intended installation during the summer term.”

“Following an initial enquiry from the Headteacher, I was contacted to discuss the replacement of the existing play provision, which had become damaged and was no longer considered a viable option for repair.
The focus was on creating an engaging and challenging activity area that would encourage physical development, exploration, and active play for pupils.
Following consultations, our Connect Trail, incorporating features such as the Traversing Forest and Horizontal Monkey Bars, was identified as a suitable solution for the available space. Combined with an Earthtone rubber mulch safety surfacing, the new area now provides children with a variety of physical challenges while supporting the development of balance, coordination, and strength.”
