Since 2003 I’ve primarily worked in the education markets on outdoor projects in the North West and Midlands, and also in Wales.
I came to the play equipment sector after 25 years in landscaping which gave me an in depth understanding of outdoor environments, the practicality and challenges of sites, as well as giving me the ability to advise on issues that might arise along the way.
I love working with clients to come up with imaginative ideas and cost-effective solutions to create playgrounds children will love playing in – after all, they’re at very heart of what we do!
I’m a proud father of three, granddad of two, and live in the south Cheshire town that makes Bentley cars, where my son used to work. I love my garden and have a vintage tractor that I enjoy tinkering with. I also spend a lot of time in North Wales. Most of my downtime, however, seems to be spent helping the kids on their projects and houses – I may grumble about this, but I love it really!
Best thing about my job:
Meeting and visiting customers and building the relationships between us.
Favourite playtime game as a child:
We had an old metal climbing frame on tarmac with no safety surface – that’s how old I am, but it was just wonderful to have as a child, regardless, so much fun I remember.
Favourite piece of Sovereign Play equipment:
Dragonheart Fortress, without a doubt! It looks so weird, slightly intimidating, fun-packed, awesome and exciting all at once.
