When I was very young, I always imagined I would become a primary school teacher or an art teacher, but I developed love for photography and design which eventually led me to study for a degree in photography at Cheltenham.
I now have over a decade in playground design experience and thrive off helping clients bring to life their outdoor spaces. I truly believe that learning outside the classroom is fundamental to a child’s growth and development.
Now with a toddler of my own in tow, it’s added a new dynamic to how I see play environments and given me a renewed vigor and approach to developing spaces that are perfect for children to explore and learn.
Best thing about my job:
Getting to understand the benefit equipment like ours actually brings to a child’s development – from physical and emotional development through to role play and sensory exploration.
Favourite playtime game as a child:
As a child I loved anything pretty physical – football, baseball, outdoorsy stuff – I was a real tomboy!
Favourite piece of Sovereign Play equipment:
My favourite piece of play equipment has to be our range of mud kitchen elements. I love a bit of cooking and can only imagine as a child this would have been perfect for me to role play and spend hours baking mud-pie cakes and getting messy.

The large pergola has made a wonderful shaded area from the sun and we’ve been able to have activities outside when it’s raining too. The surface change has made the transition of outdoors to indoors, much easier, with no need to change muddy shoes or wellies. Bikes and trikes are much easier to manoeuvre around the flat surface. The mud kitchen, climbing unit and adventure mound are firm favourites. Staff and children enjoy the outdoor space so much more!”
