Year started with Sovereign: 2004

When I first started with Sovereign in 2004, I didn’t think I would still be here all these years later! I started out as a delivery driver for our play equipment all over the UK. Much of my time was spent on the road, which I love anyway, so being paid for it seemed like a bonus.

During my early years with Sovereign, I met with schools, councillors and installers daily. Although I wasn’t aware of it at the time, I was building and establishing key relationships, as well as learning about design and play equipment. After a time working on the Health & Safety side of the business, I eventually asked if I could become a Sales Consultant. I’ve always been creative and love all aspects of design, so when the opportunity came to meet clients and design their playgrounds, I jumped at the chance and never looked back!

I live in West Sussex, which I fell in love with during my travels with Sovereign in those early days, with my wife and our young daughter. We’re keen travellers, major foodies and love nothing more than enjoying life with our family and friends.

Best thing about my job:

I would like to think my playground visions bring exciting designs to my clients and not only engage the staff on an educational level, but also create a wonderful environment for children to play in, making memories that will last their whole lives.

Favourite playtime game as a child:

Hide & Seek! I loved the challenge in finding either my sister or friends, as well as hiding in areas that I knew would be difficult to find!

Favourite piece of Sovereign Play equipment:

Titan – because of the size and challenge, it will test climbing ability as well as balance.  It also looks great with the coloured ropes which could be based on the school colours!

Case Study:

Sherington pre-school

“The installation of the new playground has been more successful than we could have ever hoped. The large pergola has made a wonderful shaded area from the sun and we’ve been able to have activities outside when it’s raining too. The surface change has made the transition of outdoors to indoors, much easier, with no need to change muddy shoes or wellies. Bikes and trikes are much easier to manoeuvre around the flat surface. The mud kitchen, climbing unit and adventure mound are firm favourites. Staff and children enjoy the outdoor space so much more!”

Testimonials

Don’t just take our word for it

Thank you for the amazing job your people did on our playground recently. It looks fantastic. The photographs actually do not do it justice. It looks amazing and has been admired by all who have seen it. The children love it too. Once again thank you for your excellent customer service. It's been a pleasure.

The children are absolutely delighted with the trail and it looks fantastic! I have ‘Tweeted’ some pictures and tagged Sovereign Play in, and one of your colleagues has been in touch with regard to re using it which is of course fine!

I had a look at the play equipment with my grandson yesterday. He gave it a big thumbs up. There were other families there and they all thought it was great. It looks very impressive and value for money, I'm very happy. I have and will recommend Sovereign to others.
