“This project transformed a disused bark-covered area within the primary school grounds into an attractive and engaging outdoor play space. The existing bark surfacing was removed and the area was reinstated with grass, improving both the appearance and usability of the site.
To enhance outdoor play opportunities, a large scramble net climbing frame with an integrated slide was installed, creating a challenging and exciting play feature for pupils. In addition, a number of fitness trail items were introduced around the area to encourage physical activity, develop balance, coordination and strength, and provide opportunities for active play during breaktimes and outdoor learning sessions.
The completed project successfully revitalised an underutilised part of the school grounds, creating a stimulating environment that promotes physical wellbeing, social interaction, and active lifestyles for pupils across the school.“
